In order to encourage a strategic conversation that extends into the longer term, IFF often work with a framework of ‘three horizons’. We have used the technique in a number of projects, often as a way of broadening the sense of what is possible in the initial assessment of a given situation.
Given the level of interest we have encountered in this model we plan to publish a pamphlet on its theory and practice. In the meantime IFF member Bill Sharpe is hosting a dedicated three horizons blog for those with an interest.
